Pride 2017 events under way

A service and discussion honoring all LGBT victims of violence, murder, and suicide was held July 25 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, on State. St., Harrisburg.

Pennsylvania’s Physician General Dr. Rachel Levine was the main speaker at the service.

Also at the event Andrew Campbell, executive vice president, Pride Festival of Central PA, made introductory remarks. Rev. Kelly Wiant, associate pastor, Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg offered an Invocation. Harrisburg MCC’s Rev. Lori Hatch-Rivera offered the benediction.

The service began last year after Orlando’s Pulse night club shooting and was expanded as part of Pride Festival of Central PA’s week-long activities.
