SPECIAL LGBT EXHIBIT OCT 18 – NOV 21

Hope, memory & pride: artists view quality

Running Oct. 18 through Nov. 21, Hope, Memory & Pride: Artists View Equality, A Compilation of Various Artists Celebrating the 50thAnniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the Art Association of Harrisburg joins the worldwide recognition of the seminal queer civil rights moment.

The Central Voice Cartoon Installation will be part of the exhibit.

Also running simultaneously with the LGBT exhibit is Bits & Pieces of the Past, a Commentary on the Opioid Crisis by Mario Manios and Brush with the Law.

”We are honored to be part of the series of exhibitions being presented throughout the region in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots," said AAH executive director Carrie Wissler Thomas, long time friend and ally of the region’s LGBT community.

“The Art Association is an open and welcoming organization and we encourage those of all ethnicities, income levels, and gender identities to visit, participate in our exhibitions, and attend our visual art classes,” Wissler said. She noted the exhibition will be an exciting collection of varied works. “It was coordinated by our talented young Curator Rachel O’Connor, and I urge everyone to attend to experience the exhibition,” she added.

A opening reception will bhe held Tues., Oct. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m.
