Denver news backs Kennedy-Shaffer

Former Voice Columnist endorsed for CO Senate

Former Central Voice Columnist Alan Kennedy-Shaffer, founder of Harrisburg Hope, was recently endorsed by the Denver News in his bid for the Colorado Senate.

The endorsement was the first one issued by the newspaper. “It is humbling to receive the first newspaper endorsement in Colorado Senate District 34,” Kennedy-Shaffer told Central Voice.

The newspaper's endorsement said, in part:

"The Denver News endorses Alan Kennedy-Shaffer, a progressive Democrat, as our next Senator for Senate District 34. Alan successfully sued President Trump on immigration -- and won. Then he sued Trump again to protect women's rights.

"Alan serves as a captain in the Colorado Army National Guard and teaches criminal justice as a PhD student at the University of Colorado Denver. Alan will fight for justice for all, education for all, and healthcare for all. Vote for Alan Kennedy-Shaffer for Senate!"

Kennedy-Shaffer is also endorsed by VoteVets.org and by Dr. Val Flores, Colorado State Board of Education.
