Blessing bags from Metropolitan Community Church of the Spirit

Many people find refuge from their homelessness under boxes and tattered blankets along the banks of Harrisburg’s Susquehanna River. Aiming to help these people Metropolitan Community Church of the Spirit, Harrisburg, recently collected “Blessings Bags” from its congregation and the community-at-large.

The bags contained travel size, personal care items. There are 1,741 homeless people in south central Pennsylvania, according to a 2015 report issued in June 2016 by the South Central PA Regional Housing Summit. By county: Lancaster – 378, Lebanon – 154, Perry – 165, York - 345 , Dauphin - 402, Cumberland – 180, Adams – 96, Franklin - 121.
